Robert Nowicki

Graduated from the Faculty of Landscape Architecture of SGGW (Warsaw University of Life Sciences), diploma no. 5142/96.

Since 1996 he's been working as a sole trader in the area of architectural landscaping along with Jarosław Potocki. Since 2001 he's been working independently, concentrating on cooperation with private investors, and on architectural contests.
Since 2004 he leads the group of landscape architects under the name URBANDESIGN.PL, which focuses on cooperation with institutional investors and the leading architectural designer offices such as HRA Architekci, MSA Architekci, S.A.M.I. Architekci.
Since that moment, the majority of projects designed within the studio cover development of multi-family housing premises, as well as office and commercial areas. Private gardens are still topics that the members of the studio work on eagerly, however.
In his projects, he focuses on a refined spatial arrangement, in which vegetation is treated just like any other material. It is not an end in and of itself, but a medium that serves to form the surrounding space. He gives a lot of attention to architectural elements, and likes to design pieces of so-called small architecture: fences, water basins, gazebos, street furniture or small buildings.

Privately, AKRN is a big fan of cross-country skiing, cross-skating, climbing and canyoning. Since the age of sixteen, bicycles were also a huge passion of his. In 2015 he managed to infect the other members of the studio with that passion, and now bicycles are the everyday means of transportation, used also for official purposes. Musically, he's a declared fan of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds.
